Ralph Lauren has officially launched its Soft Ricky Bag, which is a more relaxed interpretation of the iconic Ricky Bag, named after Ralph Lauren’s wife and muse. The new handbag is constructed of calfskin that is bonded to leather nappa in a contrasting color. The bag is shaped on molds made of carved wood to achieve its distinctive silhouette. This results in a very supple bag that is also lighter in weight yet maintains the design characteristics of the original.

Taking up to 12 hours to create and custom-made by hand in Italy, the Soft Ricky Bag has a distinctive pattern that is also hand-drawn. Each individual piece is measured, cut and attached by hand before being stamped with the signature Ralph Lauren logo — a symbol of its authenticity.
