Audemars Piguet celebrates a century and a half with the 150 Heritage pocket watch
By SENATUS Magazine | 9 February 2026

Le Brassus has officially redefined the art of the heirloom with the unveiling of the Audemars Piguet 150 Heritage pocket watch. To celebrate a century and a half of horological mastery, the Swiss manufacturer has looked beyond the wrist to create a masterpiece that bridges the gap between ancient astronomical observation and modern portability. This limited edition is far more than a timekeeper as it serves as a mechanical tribute to the celestial rhythms that have guided humanity for millennia.

At the heart of this creation lies the Calibre 1150, an ultra-complicated movement comprising 1,099 individual components. While its complexity is staggering, the design is rooted in a philosophy of intuitive elegance. Every activation mechanism has been reimagined for the tactile comfort of the hand, replacing the standard crown-pushers of a wristwatch with a streamlined system that prevents accidental activation while ensuring the piece fits perfectly within a pocket.

The true pièce de résistance is hidden within the caseback cover. Upon opening the secret back, one discovers the Universal Calendar, a groundbreaking mechanical calculator that offers a panoramic view of the world’s diverse cultural celebrations. By blending solar, lunar, and lunisolar cycles on a single dial, the watch tracks everything from the beginning of Ramadan to the Chinese New Year and the solstices. This independent mechanism remains synchronized until 2099, allowing the owner to update decades of calendrical cycles with a simple, immediate turn of a wheel.

The aesthetic appeal is equally profound. Each of the two one-of-a-kind platinum editions is a canvas for traditional métiers d’art. Hand-engraved motifs depicting the brand’s history adorn the case, while the main dial glows with the luminous depth of blue Grand Feu enamel. Suspended from a handmade platinum chain, the 150 Heritage is a testament to the artisans and visionaries who continue to shape the future of Haute Horlogerie.
