Rope Watch by Tiffany: the House’s first-ever solar-powered jewelry watch

23 May 2025

In a subtle nod to its heritage while moving steadily into the future, Tiffany & Co. presents the Rope Watch—an elegant new timepiece that thoughtfully reinterprets the iconic twisted motif by Jean Schlumberger. More than just an accessory, the Rope Watch speaks to the house’s ongoing dialogue between artistry and innovation.

Encased in 18k yellow gold, the silhouette is composed of fluid concentric rings that echo the sculptural forms of the original Rope jewelry collection. The dial—offered in either lustrous white mother-of-pearl or a high-gloss black lacquer—offers a minimal yet distinctive canvas for the motif to take center stage.

This is Tiffany & Co.’s first foray into solar-powered horology. Beneath its refined exterior lies a discreet but forward-thinking mechanism: a light-powered movement engineered for modern living. Whether under sunlit skies or ambient indoor light, the Rope Watch remains charged, delivering up to eight months of power without further exposure to light.

Designed with restraint and clarity, the Rope Watch captures a quiet sophistication. It continues Tiffany’s tradition of translating archival elegance into contemporary form—while gently reshaping the way we think about energy, time, and style.
