Ulysse Nardin unveils the Diver [Hammerhead Shark] in a striking new chapter of high horology and marine conservation

There are dive watches—and then there are deep-sea declarations. Ulysse Nardin’s new Diver [Hammerhead Shark] isn’t just a tool of timekeeping; it’s a subaquatic statement. With its 44mm blue PVD-coated titanium case, luminous design codes, and commitment to preserving oceanic biodiversity, this timepiece straddles the boundary between horological artistry and environmental advocacy. This release marks a new chapter in the Swiss maison’s nearly two-century-old love affair with the sea.

Founded in 1846 and revered for its legendary marine chronometers once trusted by global navies, Ulysse Nardin has long lived at the intersection of precision, exploration, and bold independence. The Diver [Hammerhead Shark] is no exception. Crafted for adventurers who dive beneath the surface—both literally and metaphorically—it channels the fierce elegance of its namesake predator and the urgency of its plight.

This is not the brand’s first foray into the aquatic wild. Past editions have honoured the Great White, Lemon, and Blue sharks. But the Hammerhead is a different breed—enigmatic, graceful, and gravely endangered. Both the Scalloped and Great Hammerhead sharks are now listed as critically endangered by the IUCN, victims of overfishing and a warming, acidifying ocean. It is their story that this timepiece dares to tell.

The Diver [Hammerhead Shark] isn’t just marine-inspired—it’s mission-driven. Through its SHARK series, Ulysse Nardin commits 1% of annual sales to marine conservation, as a proud member of 1% for the Planet. For this release, proceeds will benefit Shark Trust, a UK-based nonprofit working on the front lines of ocean protection.

Lending voice and visceral resonance to this campaign is Ulysse Nardin ambassador Mike Coots—a man who transformed personal trauma into purpose. Having lost his leg in a tiger shark attack as a teenager, Coots has since become a vocal advocate for the very species that altered his life. His passion for shark preservation anchors the Diver [Hammerhead Shark] not only in craftsmanship but in conscience.

Beneath its dramatic, deep-sea aesthetics, the timepiece is built for performance. It’s powered by the in-house UN-118 calibre, featuring antimagnetic, lubrication-free silicon technology for supreme resilience. Water resistant to 300 metres and equipped with a uni-directional bezel, running seconds indicator, and a 60-hour power reserve, the Diver [Hammerhead Shark] thrives under pressure. A forward-and-backward adjustable date corrector at 6 o’clock completes its functional elegance.

This isn’t just a luxury dive watch—it’s a reminder: precision matters, but so does purpose. And when both are fused in titanium blue, the result is nothing short of striking.
