Hublot's Spirit of Big Bang: the revolutionary tonneau watch gets a fresh look in orange ceramic and frosted carbon

By Kien Lee

Hublot once again demonstrates its mastery of the Art of Fusion by introducing two groundbreaking iterations to its celebrated Spirit of Big Bang collection: the Orange Ceramic and the Frosted Carbon.

These new timepieces, faithful to the collection's non-round, tonneau shape introduced in 2014 , are set to make their mark on watchmaking history in 2025 as technical and aesthetic "firsts".

The Spirit of Big Bang Orange Ceramic

Capturing the uncompromisingly bright spirit of its hue, the Spirit of Big Bang Orange Ceramic is the first tonneau-shaped line to feature this new color of high-tech ceramic.

The case and bezel are crafted from orange ceramic, a scratch-resistant material made from zirconium sintered at very high temperatures. The watch features a homogeneous aesthetic, achieved by meticulously matching the vibrant orange tone across different components, including the rubber strap and brass flange.

This statement piece is available in a highly exclusive, limited edition of just 200 pieces. It is secured with a black ceramic and black titanium deployant buckle.

The Spirit of Big Bang Frosted Carbon

A study in versatility and texture, the Spirit of Big Bang Frosted Carbon makes the striking Frosted Carbon finish available in a current collection, in the iconic tonneau format of the Spirit of Big Bang, for the first time.

The finish is highly expressive, with carbon fragments appearing "frozen in ice," creating a unique, suspended motion effect. This random placement ensures that each Frosted Carbon case is unique, elevating it to a potential collector's piece. The carbon particles catch the light in varied ways, displaying a spectrum that ranges from anthracite to slate grey to pitch black.

Beyond its look, the watch is ultra-durable and high-tech , featuring a lightweight and robust titanium exterior for its H-shaped screws, crown, and pushers. It comes equipped with a black fabric strap featuring a practical Velcro fastener.

Shared Mechanics

Both watches are powered by the HUB4700 self-winding skeleton chronograph movement. This movement boasts a power reserve of approximately 50 hours and operates at a frequency of 5 Hz (36,000 Vib/h). Both references are guaranteed water-resistant to 10 ATM/100 M. The movement is visible through a sapphire crystal case-back.

As Hublot CEO Julien Tornare affirms, these new versions further emphasize the collection's unique character, dedicated to collectors whose personalities are "different and unique".
