Tiffany & Co. Unveils The Bird On A Flying Tourbillon Azure Blossom
Tiffany & Co. enriches its high-jewellery watch collection with a masterpiece that marries mechanical virtuosity to jewelled fantasy: the Bird on a Flying Tourbillon Azure Blossom. A limited edition of just ten pieces, this dazzling creation encapsulates the House’s 188-year legacy of design, craftsmanship, and gemstone expertise, while charting a bold path in high watchmaking.
Inspired by Jean Schlumberger’s legendary Bird on a Rock brooch of 1965, the new timepiece transforms the motif into horological theatre. Within a 39 mm white gold case, snow-set with 341 diamonds, the dial blossoms in layers of artistry: champlevé enamel, lacquered appliqué florals, miniature gold sculpture, and diamond-setting—a composition that required over 80 hours of enamelling and painting, plus 40 hours to handcraft the gold-and-diamond bird. In total, the watch is set with 771 diamonds weighing more than 3.8 carats, from case to crown.
Beneath a faceted sapphire crystal dome, the flying tourbillon becomes kinetic sculpture, crowned by a diamond-set bird that hovers above the dial. Developed with Swiss manufacture Artime, the bespoke Caliber AFT24T01 comprises 205 components, offers a 50-hour power reserve, and reveals a spectacle of hand-finishing through its sapphire caseback. Two star-shaped bridges, echoing the iconic Tiffany® Setting, anchor the mechanical beauty.
A garden of enamel, light, and stone, the Bird on a Flying Tourbillon Azure Blossom is more than a watch—it is a bejewelled ode to Schlumberger’s poetic gardens and Tiffany’s audacity, where Haute Joaillerie and Haute Horlogerie finally take flight together.
