Only Watch 2023 - Frederique Constant x Christiaan van der Klaauw
By SENATUS Magazine | 30 June 2023

Frederique Constant and Christiaan van der Klaauw, both Dutch-founded and Dutch-led watchmaking houses, are celebrating over 20 years of horological friendship with a unique creation that combines their respective knowhow for the very first time.

Frederique Constant has contributed its Manufacture Tourbillon, designed, decorated, and hand-assembled in its Geneva workshops, together with a 42mm Classic case developed by the firm especially for the occasion.

The same piece features the world’s smallest planetarium from the Dutch watchmaker, the leading specialist in astronomical complications, showing six planets orbiting the Sun in real time – an orbit that takes Saturn almost 30 years to complete. It’s also the first time a Frederique Constant has sported a combined date/month display using hands on a single counter.

For this exclusive timepiece for Only Watch 2023, the two firms have selected a cosmic dial made of aventurine – another first for Frederique Constant.
