Rado channels the allure of the ocean with two stunning new Captain Cook timepieces
By SENATUS Magazine | 1 December 2025

Discover two new Rado Captain Cook models designed to channel the ocean's most evocative colours for the ultimate summer statement. These horological companions serve as the perfect partners for a day at the beach club or cocktail hour on a yacht. The first model radiates immaculate summer holiday vibes with a light blue-to-white dial and light blue ceramic bezel insert. This spectrum is a first for Rado and instantly transports the wearer back to St Barts or a honeymoon bungalow in the Seychelles. It captures the essence of pure cloudless skies reflecting on warm shallow waters for a care-free escape from real life.

Its partner tells a different though equally powerful story through a black-to-turquoise dial and black high-tech ceramic bezel insert. This palette suggests a more adrenaline-fuelled style of oceanic adventure such as sailing in Costa Rica or cold-water swimming in the Norwegian fjords. These are the sort of enigmatic colours that one might associate with the more profound moments of life. These intriguing colours are paired with the signature ruggedness of the Captain Cook range and set on stainless steel cases that feel innately sporty.

Adding to the practicality is a significant first for Rado as these two timepieces introduce a 39mm size to the Captain Cook range. This new size along with a case height of just 12mm widens the appeal of the range to accommodate wrists of all sizes. A delightful easter egg can be found in the polished rice grain stainless steel components of the bracelet which look a little like water droplets to lend a wonderful sense of fluidity.

Inspired by the vintage Rado Captain Cook introduced in 1962 the functionality of the timepiece is deliberately single-minded. Accuracy is essential for any kind of watery exploits and is assured with the Rado calibre R763 movement. This mechanism features an 80-hour power reserve and an antimagnetic Nivachron hairspring for enhanced reliability. Wearing either of these timepieces means a mere glance at your wrist will spark conversations with fellow ocean aficionados about your past experiences on the water.
