A. Lange & Söhne - from the Lange 1 to the Grand Lange 1
By SENATUS Editor | 30 June 2023

Since A. Lange & Söhne premiered the Lange 1 in 1994, this special timepiece has been one of the key pieces in its collection.

With its particular combination of traditional elements that are unique to Saxony’s watchmaking heritage – including the three-quarter plate, screwed gold chatons, and the screw balance – as well as groundbreaking innovations such as the off-centre dial design and our outsize date, it earned global acclaim. Moreover, it also set a benchmark for many of the manufactory’s other developments.

The redesigned GRAND LANGE 1, launched in 2022, comes with a grey dial and more elegant proportions. Although its height has been reduced to 8.2 millimetres, the timepiece is powered by the proven calibre L095.1.

Due to the enlarged proportions relative to the LANGE 1 with hand arbors slightly shifted outwards, it respects the model family’s design down to the smallest detail.
