Playfulness Prevails at Kittie Yiyi Spring Summer 2016 Show
By Men's Journal Online | 15 August 2015

Malaysian designer Kittie Yiyi’s imagination never ceases to stimulate. She may be inspired by colour, texture, image of anything that she finds stimulating. A story then slowly develops, and that results in a final collection. For her spring-summer 2016 collection, presented during Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week Ready To Wear 2015, she infused whimsical touches and compositions which reflected the upbeat mood of youthful generation. The celebration of youth culture has been integral to the establishment of the Kittie’s aesthetic. She sent a quirky trench coat in clear plastic embellished with cartoon figures down the runway. Hand-painted dress with vibrant colour palette, a pop-up unicorn on an oversized jumper, fringe dress and hoodie punctuated with playful patterns that challenged contemporary fashion.
