The re-invigoration of Vacheron Constantin's Overseas collection this year had by far, one of the most understated, least-noticed, but most significant features for the sartorial traveller... the ingenious interchangeability of the watch strap.
Without the need for any additional tools, a hidden toggle on the back of the strap allows a quick un-snap from the case, whilst a nondescript key-hole dial facilitates the release of the clasp.
To recap, the metal bracelet of the Overseas features a domed and satin-finished centre, while the polished inner angles form a half Maltese cross.
Depending on the model, Overseas watches are also delivered with both or either of leather and rubber straps, that can be fitted with a folding clasp.
Now, just in time for the festive season, the Swiss manufacture has rolled out an addition of stylish options.
Choices for leather straps now include semi-matt dark grey, blue or camel for the gentlemen, and pink, light blue or white for the ladies.
These hand-sewn Mississipiensis alligator leather strap with its large square scales, come with a a nubuck lining with a microperforated effect - for both comfort and style.
For the rubber straps, there is a choice of blue for men, and white for women.
Each of the rubber straps feature a motif inspired by the Vacheron Constantin emblem.
Indeed for the Overseas watch owner, styling on the go has never been easier.
The question remains.. what outfit are you going to wear with that new strap?
