As Loewe marks a monumental 180 year anniversary, the house looks both backward and forward with a striking reinvention of its most iconic leather silhouette.
Designed by Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez for their debut Spring Summer 2026 runway collection, the Amazona 180 serves as a sophisticated bridge between heritage and the contemporary pulse.

The original bag first emerged in 1975 during a period of profound cultural shift in Spain. It was a design born of necessity and liberation, crafted specifically for a new generation of women entering the workplace who required a softer, more agile shape that moved with the rhythm of daily life rather than obstructing it. While the very first iterations were famously rendered in gold suede with Vicente Vela’s Anagram, the new Amazona 180 maintains that same essence of ease and poise while introducing a fresh, slouchy attitude.

The updated silhouette is defined by an exquisitely soft calfskin developed specifically for this style, offering a subtle shine and a silky touch that anchors a relaxed, two faced design. It is a bag meant to be carried open to reveal a new double L branding, though it remains thoughtfully practical with a concealed magnetic closure to keep personal essentials secure. Every detail is honed with clear intent, from the signature domed squares at each side to the interior flat pocket and a left side D-ring that invites personal flair.

Functionality remains at the heart of the collection, which launched on February 26. Available in a versatile range of sizes including Mini, Small, and Large, the bag adapts to various contexts with three distinct carry options. The palette is equally rich, spanning from Ink Navy and Daisy Yellow to the iconic Gold and Chocolate combination for the suede versions. This is more than just a seasonal accessory; it is continuity shaped into renewal.
