Lanvin's presentation was held at the National Fine Arts School in Paris, known as the institution which for centuries has trained France's great painters and sculptor.

On this occasion however, the brand was celebrating its 125th anniversary and took the opportunity to put together a runway casting consisting of Amber Valleta, Violetta Sanchez and Audrey Marnay.

And so it was apt that Creative Director Alber Elbaz was able to paint a picture of chic from the monochromatic in French high fashion label's Spring/Summer 2015 collection.

The designs were in a refreshing canvas of neutrals, from nudes, blacks, ivories, amethysts to coppers, applied on the long, sinewy clothing, from the fabulous billowy black silk jumpsuit to the oversized blue blazer, as well as dresses of silk charmeuse which shone with an ethereal polish.

Then there was a segway into prints, featuring floral designs that caught the eye with glimmery shine. There were also standout party pieces trimmed with pearls to ornate brocades of gold and fuchsia and even beautifully cut, tuxedo-inspired tailoring.

Oriental swirls of yellow-gold and navy bedecked dresses, skirts and jackets, highlighted the blues and yellows that dominated this season, amongst them an exquisitely tailored, sensible blue jacket paired with hip-hugging gold and blue pants worthy of a bullfighter out on the town.

The final look of show was a resplendent silk dress with flowing sleeves cut to mid-thigh in tones of mustard and slate that projected an airiness and effortlessness.
