Cartier has partnered with The Hour Glass to pay tribute to the iconic Cartier Tank with an immersive pop-in at Malmaison by The Hour Glass, in Singapore.
1917, Louis Cartier took inspiration from the purity of the line to create a new watch shape. The two parallel brancards are an established signature of the Tank watch. Inspired by the design of a combat vehicle viewed from above, this watch follows one clear graphics principle: the brancards were the treads, the case was the turret. In addition, the case attachments are aligned with the strap to maintain the rhythm of the design.
To discover the Tank watch design in its entirety, the Cartier Tank Experience aims to bring one on a cultural journey via multiple touchpoints. Inspired by the print of the Tank's tracks, a timeline showcases the rich history of the timepiece since its appearance in 1917.
This is followed by an expedition through time to the rhythm of the sun's rays, with a highly experiential animation highlighting the newly launched Tank Must SolarBeat watch and its groundbreaking photovoltaic movement.
Making its first debut in Asia, the strap bar offers a comprehensive customisation experience from strap colour selection to personalisation.
Open to all interested members of the public, the Cartier Tank Experience runs from 27 October 2021 to 5 December 2021. Keen individuals are encouraged to indicate registration interest here as viewing slots are limited.
