Balmain Army Returns for Spring/Summer 2017 Campaign

13 January 2017

By Tricia Oliveira

Balmain has unveiled the first shots from its Spring/Summer 2017 campaign hot by American fashion photographer Steven Klein.

The now-famous "Balmain Army" - a recurrent theme from previous season - now stars models Natasha Poly, Doutzen Kroes and Isabeli Fontana who had walked the runway presentation for the French fashion brand last year. The three female stars are joined by Spanish model Jon Kortajarena.

A single road in a barren desert hints at civilization in this new campaign backdrop picked by Olivier Rousteing.

While the warrior spirit that underscored previous campaigns appears to have been toned down a little, this season's stars are still proud conquerors, glamourous yet strong, striding confidently as they showcase the label's new collection.

The campaign photos highlight two distinct lines within the Balmain Spring/Summer collection.

The first set sees these "Amazon-like warriors" in floaty, fluid, semi-sheer attire in shades of khaki and saffron, with wild, almost untamed vibes. The second highlights the metallic creations that shimmer and shine with gold and silver, for a sexier and more glamorous style.
