Grand Seiko exclusives at Watches of Switzerland, inspired by the Jōdogahama skies
By SENATUS Magazine | 26 December 2023

Miyako Bay is in Japan's Iwate prefecture, source of many Grand Seiko creations. Along this coast is Jōdogahama Beach, famous for its crystal clear tropical water and white volcanic rock formations created by lava over 52 million years ago. The hidden gem is designated by the Japanese government as an official ‘Special Place of Scenic Beauty.’

Exclusively available in Watches of Switzerland, Goldsmiths and Mappin and Webb boutiques and online, three new pieces from Grand Seiko are inspired by a starry night at Jōdogahama - the radiating mosaic-style dial pattern resembles the star-studded night sky. The 'Jōdogahama Beach at Night' version is complemented by cool blue accents reflecting the moonlit waters, whilst the two limited edition pieces feature a 'Nova Green' or 'Nova Purple' dial, resembling the cosmos of the night sky.

Continuing the classic 62GS design series, these timepieces feature a wide dial for maximum light reflection alongside box sapphire glass and a Zaratsu-polished and multi-faceted case. The exhibition case back to showcase the in-house 9S85 hi-beat movement, which beats 10 times per second with a 55-hour power reserve.

Exclusively available from Watches of Switzerland Group.
