Hamilton Ventura XXL Bright takes inspiration from the city signage at night
By SENATUS Editor | 7 January 2023

The original Hamilton Ventura released in 1957 was a truly innovative wrist-piece sensation, boasting an electric circuit, making it the very first electrical watch, and a bold and distinctive case shape, inspired by pioneering designer Richard Arbib. To continue its futuristic legacy, Hamilton has introduced an eye catching new aesthetic that now reveals an oversized version and a dial that illuminates red.

Half a century ago, the Ventura astonished the watch-making and design worlds with its electric powered movement and elaborate geometric shape, and still pushes boundaries in horology and design to this day. Having being worn by the King of Rock n Roll Elvis Presley himself in 1961 film “Blue Hawaii”, it also became an iconic piece of Hollywood history that only contributed to its unwavering success.

To honour this signature watch icon, Hamilton is welcoming a new striking iteration, the Ventura XXL Bright. The new model, boasting a 47.6mm stainless steel case, is covered in slick, black PVD coating, and offers a remarkable quartz movement that illuminates the dial in red with a push of the 9 o’clock button.

Black hour and minute hands coated with Super-LumiNova® combine with an electric pulse pattern and matching indices to make this outstanding upgrade a truly fearless take on the 1950’s original.
