Vacheron Constantin was the Presenting Sponsor for the National Gallery Gala 2016 in Singapore held on 7 October, at which close to 1.2M was raised in the inaugural charity fundraiser. All funds raised in this Gala will go towards enabling the Gallery to deepen its curatorial research, as well as grow, preserve and present its collection to the world. It will also go towards funding the Gallery’s community and education programmes.
The Gala was attended by 250 guests comprising local and regional artists, Gallery patrons and donors, including both individual and corporate philanthropists. They were treated to a Vacheron Constantin Brand Showcase at the Gallery’s City Hall Chamber prior to the Gala dinner, which included a selection timepieces from the Patrimony and Metiers d’Art collection. There was even an opportunity to observe Vacheron Constantin’s watchmaker disassembling and assembling an in-house movement up close.
Vacheron Constantin has been in continuous production for over 260 years, making it the world’s oldest watch manufacturer. The brand’s long standing heritage of embracing art and culture is coupled with the dedication to excellence and commitment to artistic creativity, dovetailed neatly with its partnership with the National Gallery - it being a leading arts institution in South East Asia.
