Saint Laurent Menswear Delivers Ode to 1950's Rock
By SENATUS Magazine | 2 July 2013

Hedi Slimane delivered an ode, with his own twist, to the rock era of the 1950s with his Saint Laurent Paris menswear show Sunday. Key signature looks from the label's Spring Summer 2014 menswear 44-outfit collection included pointy buckled "winklepicker" shoes with white socks, bolo ties, greased hair, red bandana neckscarves, sleeveless black leather and leopard jackets — as well as Slimane's recognizable skinny pants.

Among the looks were a black piped red jacket reminiscent of a 1950s cabaret, a "Grease"-inspired leather waistcoat which revealed an exposed back to show a sparkly undergarment. Elements from the 1970's and 1980's were also included, with shiny, skintight black pants sported alongside a rock 'n' roll leopard tuxedo and black mesh undergarment.
