TORIO is the Japanese phrase トリオ for “trio”. On launching TORIO Japanese Restaurant in 2018, the three founding owners declared that any success from the restaurant would be attributable to their collective commitment, contribution and camaraderie.
TORIO serves authentic Japanese Omakase prepared from the freshest of ingredients, delivered with the best of service and priced at a cost that won’t break your bank. TORIO is well-placed to be the leading Japanese restaurant in Singapore – an aspiration boldly declared on their website at www.torio.com.sg
Omakase literally means “I’ll leave it up to you” in Japanese. Unlike regular restaurants where customers scratch their heads as they struggle to select from a running list of menu items, Omakase restaurants such as TORIO offer to keep it simple: Seat yourself and leave it up to the chefs and service staff to do the rest.
TORIO is helmed by Head Chef Jackles Tai, an Itamae with 20 years’ experience. Having undergone extensive training and apprenticeship under the watchful eyes of renowned Japanese chefs, “Chef Jack”— as he is endearingly referred to, demonstrates exemplary knowledge of TORIO and, is endowed with the aptitude and skills fully-qualified Itamaes are reputed to possess. Chef Jack has been widely-praised for his innovative streak and creativity. He regularly designs new dishes that promise to make dining at TORIO a delightfully unique experience.
Happy to give TORIO a try? An eight to nine-course meal starts from S$80++ – a reasonable price, especially when you consider the time, effort and attention to detail the chefs invest in each and every dish. If you work in the CBD and are hungry for a quick and tasty lunch, TORIO also offers lunch sets priced from $25++.
