Van Cleef & Arpels Lady Arpels™ Planetarium Poetic Complications #SIHH2018

24 February 2018

The new Lady Arpel Planétarium Poetic Complications Van Cleef & Arpels features the Sun (gold) with Mercury (pink mother of pearl), Venus (green enamel) and Earth (turquoise), along with its natural satellite, the Moon (diamond), on an striking aventurine dial. On the outer ring, a shooting star indicates the time.

Each heavenly body moves at its actual speed, orbiting the dial in 88 days for Mercury, 224 days for Venus and 365 days for Earth. In a key innovation for this piece, the Moon itself rotates around the Earth in 29.5 days.

The timepiece with a self-winding mechanical movement and 40 hour power reserve, is sized at 38mm in white gold with diamonds on the sides and the bezel, with its crown set with a diamond.
