RLX titanium – The heavy task of lightness

23 October 2023

RLX titanium is an alloy Rolex uses for its strength and lightness.

It is a special kind of grade 5 titanium which we select with utmost care. Lighter than steel, denser than aluminium, it is extremely robust and resistant to corrosion. For years, Rolex studied its properties, mastering every facet and developing many new operations, such as surface-finishing to perfect its polish.

Welcoming RLX titanium into the Rolex workshops was hard work, a heavy task, but it has brought a unique finish of outstanding brilliance and hue. Because to Rolex, lightness should never be taken lightly.
