Cartier has launched a brand new collection called Paris Nouvelle Vague, inspired by the French city and its architecture. The collection is made up of seven sub-ranges: Mischievous, Voluptuous, Impish, Emancipated, Sparkling, Delicate, and Glamorous, with designs such as cocktail rings, delicate pendants and stud earrings.
Originally launched in 1999, Cartier has expanded its Paris Nouvelle Vague collection, which consists of seven lines each with a distinct visual identity, to be more in line with today’s lifestyles of style-conscious women.
With plenty of places to draw from in Paris, the collection covers a wide spectrum of characteristics: classical, playful, elegant and bold all fittingly describe the jewels in the collection. One line is a graphic reinterpretation of the late Thirties architecture of the Palais de Chaillot opposite the Eiffel tower, another line reimagines the Ferris wheel in the Tuileries in a pair of circular earrings of green chrysoprase and blue lapis.
An explosion of gold beads mimic the excitement of Bastille Day fireworks in the Paris night sky, while a diamond-studded wave design draws inspiration from the calmly flowing Seine River.
