The "Rainbow" Daytona was first released by Rolex back in 2012, in white or yellow gold. Discontinued shortly thereafter, they have been highly sought after by collectors and consumers alike.

In 2018, the release of a new variation in Everose brings the Rainbow Daytona back on the market. Featuring 36 baguette-cut sapphires in a range of graduated colour around the bezel, 11 baguette-cut, coloured sapphires for the hour markers, and lugs and crown guards set with a total of 56 diamonds, set on a base Daytona in rose gold.

This is undoubtedly a statement piece, whether worn as jewellery or seen as an extravagantly-decorated chronograph. The appeal, or at least the eyecatchiness-factor, is undisputed. You will be noticed.

The Rainbow joins the family of the Oyster Perpetual Cosmograph Daytona collection, which was created in 1963 and has become an icon in the world of motor sport. On this new 18 ct Everose gold version, the emblematic tachymetric scale on the bezel is now set with a gradation of sapphires in rainbow hues. The sapphires on the hour markers each match the colour of the corresponding point on the bezel.

The chronograph counters are in pink Gold Crystals, with a shimmer effect created by the crystallization of a pink gold alloy especially developed by Rolex.

Certified Superlative Chronometer as are all Rolex timepieces, the Rainbow Daytona sized at 40mm comes with a solid-link Oyster bracelet in 18 ct Everose gold with ceramic inserts and an Oysterlock safety clasp to prevent accidental opening. The bracelet includes the Easylink rapid extension system, patented by Rolex in 1996, that allows the wearer to easily increase the bracelet length by approximately 5 mm for additional comfort.
