Polo Originals Celebrates Return to Polo Ralph Lauren's Origins

2 November 2022

By Tricia Oliviera

Ralph Lauren has launched a new Polo Originals collection, a curated assortment of menswear that celebrates the return to Polo Ralph Lauren’s origins.

The pieces represent Ralph Lauren’s uniquely American approach to British tailoring with a rugged style. The end result are clothings that are equal parts classic and modern, incorporating traditional details and design flourishes in an homage that is unmistakably Polo Ralph Lauren.

From Fair Isle Wool Sweaters inspired by the fishermen of the Shetland Islands, to Trench Coats tailored in Italy from British Millerain oilcloth, to iconic silhouettes cut from custom-made Shetland tweed crafted by Abraham Moon & Sons, Polo honors the subtle, the sartorial, the discerning, in a powerful return to distinctive products entrenched in history and imbued with modernity.

The Fall campaign was captured by renowned photographer, and longtime Ralph Lauren contributor, Richard Phibbs and features a short film directed by Terrence Connors. The authentic characters featured in this cinematic experience include a young tailor from Notting Hill and the University of St Andrews Rugby Football Club. The dynamic images and moving picture evoke the true spirit of Polo Originals – youthful, energetic, and sophisticated.

Polo Originals is part of the Polo Ralph Lauren Men’s Fall collection and will be available for purchase globally on 15 September 2022, both in stores and at www.ralphlauren.com.
