The LOEWE FOUNDATION is taking its dedication to masterful making to Southeast Asia, announcing that the LOEWE FOUNDATION Craft Prize 2026 will be held in Singapore next spring. This momentous move marks the first time the prestigious international award—which celebrates excellence, artistic merit, and innovation in modern craft—will be presented in the region, shining a global spotlight on the dynamic cultural capital.
Launched in 2016, the Craft Prize was established to support international artists who demonstrate an exceptional ability to create objects of superior aesthetic value. It is a powerful platform for honoring those who dare to innovate while preserving a deep connection to their material and culture, embodying the values of care, dedication, and imagination. As Sheila Loewe, President of the LOEWE FOUNDATION, notes, these are "the gestures that shape our future."
The competition welcomes applications from anyone over 18 working in a craft-based profession. The top honor comes with a prize of 50,000 euros for the winner, with two special mentions each receiving 5,000 euros. For context, the 2025 edition received over 4,600 submissions from 133 countries and regions, underscoring the award’s global reach.
The shortlisted works will be exhibited in Singapore in the spring of 2026, where the esteemed LOEWE FOUNDATION Craft Prize Jury will select the winning piece. Joining the 2026 Jury are Kunimasa Aoki, the winner of the 2025 Prize, alongside new LOEWE Creative Directors Jack McCollough and Lázaro Hernández. Further details about the location and ceremony will be announced in early 2026.
