On 7 December, a date steeped in horological history, the artisans of Glashütte have unveiled a masterpiece that captures the warm glow of a winter sunset. The A. Lange & Söhne Lange 1 Daymatic Honeygold serves as a poetic tribute to the brand's dual heritage, launching on the anniversary of both Ferdinand Adolph Lange’s foundational start in 1845 and Walter Lange’s brave 1990 relaunch.

This self-winding marvel is presented for the first time in the manufacture's exclusive 750 honey gold, a secret alloy that radiates a soft, sophisticated lustre unlike any other. Limited to a mere 250 pieces, the watch pairs this rare metal with a rich brown dial crafted from solid silver, creating a tonal harmony that feels both contemporary and timeless.

The design is a clever, mirrored take on the classic Lange 1 silhouette. By shifting the hour and minute displays to the right and placing the signature outsize date on the left, the Daymatic offers a fresh perspective while maintaining the brand's iconic off-centre balance. In place of a power reserve, a graceful retrograde day-of-week display traces the left periphery of the dial, adding a touch of kinetic elegance to the daily ritual of timekeeping. With a refined case diameter of 39.5 millimetres, the timepiece is designed to slip effortlessly beneath the cuff of a silk blouse or a tailored jacket.

Beyond the radiant exterior lies the heart of the manufacture, the calibre L021.1 movement. Visible through a sapphire crystal caseback, the interior architecture is a marvel of technical artistry, featuring a large central rotor in 21-carat gold with a platinum centrifugal mass. Every component is subject to the strict standards of Lange finissage, from the hand-engraved balance cock to the shimmering Glashütte ribbing and cornflower-blue screws.
Completed with a taupe alligator leather strap and a solid honey gold buckle, this limited edition is a definitive statement in German precision and understated luxury.
