Floating like a balloon and as blue as the sapphire safely nestled in its side, the Ballon Bleu de Cartier timepiece by Cartier adds a dash of elegance to male and female wrists alike.
Created in 2007, the Ballon Bleu de Cartier watch is round on the top and round underneath with a convex case, guilloché dial, sword-shaped hands, with polished or satin-finish links of the bracelet.
Roman numerals are guided on their path by a sapphire cabochon winding mechanism protected by an arc of precious metal.
The winding mechanism is decorated with a sapphire cabochon, around which the dial orbits, and is more imposing than ever before due to a precious metal protective arch. With soft curves reminiscent of a pebble and a case that is rounded on both sides, the style is somewhere between classic and futuristic.
The glass magnifies the numbers and distorts time. The Roman numerals, displaced by the winding mechanism, stray from their usual path.
The collection from the House of Cartier is a standout member of Cartier’s horology galaxy of time indeed.
