There’s something dangerous about John Varvatos’ man for the fall. Shroud in darkness and mystery, there is a strong element of sophistication in the execution of the collection’s tailored pieces. It’s more than being edgy and cool, something Varvatos does ingeniously, but about finding the unique quality in the expectations that menswear garners. Prints graduate into solids, wools are pulled and tucked, materials dyed and fabrics mixed. From leather sleeve inserts paired with animal print to satin finished lapels, the details lend Varvatos’ man the danger of the luxurious unexpected.
