Maurice Lacroix marks fifty years of style with the new 1975 collection
By SENATUS Magazine | 1 December 2025

Maurice Lacroix commemorates its fiftieth anniversary this year with a look back at its origins. The brand is inaugurating this golden milestone with the unveiling of the 1975 collection which comprises both automatic and quartz references. This new line is endowed with elegant styling and sleek proportions that exude a vintage vibe while simultaneously promising an enduring appeal for the modern wrist. The collection feels refined and clean while remaining packed with the familiar characteristics that have defined the Swiss marque for half a century.

The house has maintained a spirit of dynamic innovation since its founding in 1975 by constantly seeking new ways to indicate time. A pivotal moment in the history of the company arrived in 2014 when the creative team delved into the archives to rediscover the Calypso. This forgotten gem was reimagined for a modern audience as the AIKON in 2016 and became an urban timepiece that immediately resonated with a new generation of watch lovers. The brand is now applying that same winning formula of Swiss craftsmanship and high perceived value to the new 1975 collection.

The creative team revisited a suite of models known as Les Classique from 1988 to develop this new series. They have reinterpreted each reference in a retro-modern style that embraces sumptuous new materials to win the hearts of watch fans. The result is a collection that feels vintage inspired yet remains ideally suited to the pace of modern life. The Maurice Lacroix 1975 collection indulges city dwellers with a vast array of ownership options that are perfectly aligned with contemporary tastes through various sizes and dial executions.

The 1975 Automatic arrives in a choice of 36 mm or 40 mm case sizes to unite vintage aesthetics with mechanical know-how. The brand also offers the aptly named 1975 Quartz in a 39 mm case for those who prefer the ease of a battery-powered movement. All models are available in a choice of three sophisticated dial colors including blue, black, or silver. Classic dauphine-style hands collaborate with hand-applied trapeze-shaped hour markers to indicate the time against a sunbrushed motif that wonderfully toys with the light.

Maurice Lacroix has equipped each version of the collection with a Masterpiece specification case that unites both brushed and polished surfaces to showcase its expertise. A close examination of the caseband reveals an intricate play of contrasting finishes which is a feat that requires immense skill to execute. This blend of finishes is repeated on a new five-row steel bracelet equipped with a folding clasp. The model can alternatively be specified with a color-coordinating leather strap featuring a new embossed logo. Both the bracelet and strap options come with the Easy Strap Exchange system which allows the wearer to adapt the look of their watch with just a few user-friendly clicks.
