Balenciaga opens first store in Gold Coast Australia
By SENATUS Editor | 15 July 2024

Balenciaga has opened a new boutique, the brand's first in the the Gold Coast of Australila. The new retail space is located in Broadbeach Waters in Queensland, Australia. In terms of store decor, it iterates on Balenciaga’s Raw Architecture concept.

The store’s exterior façade and interior design question the atmospheric elements of luxury by involving unfinished and distressed construction elements, a process that inherently results in the use of fewer virgin materials, in keeping with Balenciaga’s commitment to sustainable methods.

A white-lit Balenciaga sign announces the store from the vantage point of a polished mall court, set in stark contrast to concrete slab that frame a glass storefront.

Inside the 319-square meter environment, aged raw metal fixtures, worn upholstery, and an exposed ceiling grid evoke a liminal or outdoor area, with patinas and stains added to reference the passage of time.
