OBAMA Art

So Barack Obama is now the 44th President of the United States, and whether he will fulfil the hopes and dreams of the American voters and the international community that roots for him, one thing is certain: He has a new role in Inspirational and "street" art... replacing what were once bemusing and unflattering illustrations of his predecessor.

In the run-up to the elections and post inaugural celebrations, much of this art has revealed and manifested itself in our popular street culture and mainstream media.

From Shepard Fairey's "Hope" poster art to that of websites like DesignforObama.org, the hope, faith and enthusiasm can literally be seen "jumping out from within the page".

Known for his underground street drawings, L.A.-based alternative artist Shepard Fairey has gained worldwide recognition for his now famous rendition of Barack Obama.
